"Rave voyeur" brings together artists whose work explores the specific characteristics of rave/clubbing culture through the prism of the individual and the collective.
Clubs and raves serve as platforms for ad-hoc communities of fluid boundaries that can form and break apart according to need. Dance in the clubbing context is the basic means of expression through which the participants maintain control over their own body, ideas and mind. Club scene and pulsating music gradually lead individuals to an altered state of consciousness, providing a collective transcendental experience. Individual goals suddenly become the same as other people's. The artificial sense of consensus creates an apparent potential for changing the future. Can this experience serve as an act of resistance in the time of crisis?
