DB Indoš House of Extreme Music Theatre: I:O:
The work I:O: is composed of a quiet mega(reflecto)phone backdrop occasionally overpowered by live voices and their respective springs, post-noise chaotic guitar, bass, drum and saxophone noises creating noisy schahtophonies.
Schachtophon music is a type of hybrid sound art, it is a departure from music, from musical notation towards graphic recording that gives instructions for a micro-sound performance on a macro-photogram material from Ivan Martinac’s book based on which we create the conceptual practice of sound in the mind and of mental in the sound. We produce ur-holographonic encounters of surveillance cameras incorporated in the construction of nomadic schachtophones, which glide through the smooth territory ridged by parallel metal rails. The encounter of captured images is the work of surveillance cameras that capture images within the three-sided schacht black box, one set of images is captured in safety mirrors and another set results from the direct contact of hands and springs in the core of the black schacht box.
