Art as a means of subversion and imagination is at the heart of the work of the Swedish artist Jaane Kristiine Alakoski. Performance and interaction drive her work that explores the communication that can arise between the performer and the audience. The affinity for everyday interaction leads to an intimate exchange between the artist and the participants in her performances and workshops. Her playfulness, penchant for popular culture and the construction of imaginary worlds (worldbuilding) are at the heart of her artistic processes.
