Ana Jelušić and Nina Gojić: Senior
The title and concept of the work "Senior" derives from Petra Collins’s photograph from "The Teenage Gaze" series.
The photograph shows three girls in t-shirts with the inscription “senior“ that, in this context, describes a high school senior, someone mature or at the threshold of maturity. Senior can also mean older; older than someone else or than oneself at the time, or it can refer to the elderly, senior citizens. The choreographer aims to explore the form that simultaneously evokes both sportiness and danciness, and a personal experience from the past, the atmosphere of youth, as well as her own experience as a dance performer, based on the very same past experience in the present, believing that what is now multiple, both in terms of space and time, and what is not single and unambiguous, contains in itself the potential for freedom.
