Fears of Small Differences
As a place that brings together the issues of the individual vs. the collective, conscious and unconscious assimilation of the characteristics of the environment, and defining oneself in relation to one's surroundings, "Fears of Small Differences" is a project that seeks to highlight the space between the desire to adapt and its impossibility, the space between the identity forged through displacement from the familiar and habitual.
By alienating one's own body for the sake of adaptation, the boundary between one's own and that of another blurs, a sense of belonging is sought, nostalgia is awakened, there is a negotiation between the past and the present, the known and the unknown.
