Turning into an Ear
Multimedia installation "Pretvorit ćeš se u uho"/“Turning into an Ear“ is a documentary and compositional approach to words and their ability of having multiple meanings when manipulated, and an experimental collaboration between active silence and the surrounding collective murmur.
Words are a direct tool of expression and communication. They can be literal, descriptive, evocative, deceiving, independent, dependent, polysemic…Depending on what comes before and after them, they change their function. This “before“ and “after“ is one of the topics of interest of this work. The exhibition Pretvorit ćeš se u uho / Turning into an Ear is a part of the series of exhibitions in the 90-60-90 Gallery on the topic of Silence.
Toni Mijač completed an undergraduate study program at the Arts Academy in Split, Department of Film and Video, and a graduate study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, Department of New Media.
