Yo La Tengo
In May, Zagreb will have another opportunity to see one of the most adored American “small” bands - Yo La Tengo!
It was created in1984 as a musical project of future spouses Ira Kaplana (guitar, piano, vocals) and Georgie Hubley (drums, piano, vocals) and a bass player, James McNew, joined them 8 years later. In time, Yo La Tengo gained cult followers and became one of the biggest darlings of music critics all around the world. It published fourteen exceptional albums featuring beautiful, intriguing, experiment-prone and often noisy pop music, created music for movies but also recorded the theme for the iconic Simpsons. The band played the Velvet Underground in the "I Shot Andy Warhol" movie and shared the stage with many other musical icons.
