Corners
Corners was a project that from 2011 to 2018 acted as a platform for artists and audiences, designed and driven by cultural organisations at the edges of Europe.
Corners created possibilities for artists and researchers to collaborate on international multidisciplinary art projects. It was dedicated to researching the edges of Europe, spaces outside the cultural, political and social centres, and through the works of artists it tried to connect remote areas and cities by collecting their stories and transferring them from one place to the other.
Corners was implemented by 11 organizations: Intercult (Stockholm) as the project holder, and besides Pogon, project partners include the following organizations: Exodos (Ljubljana), Drugo more (Rijeka), City Culture Institute (Gdansk), Donostia / San Sebastian 2016 – European Capital of Culture, Arts Council of Northern Ireland (Belfast), ISIS Arts (Newcastle), Fond B92 / REX (Belgrade), DokuFest (Prizren) and Teatro Pubblico Pugliese (Bari).
Within Corners, Pogon has co-produced the following works: “Atlas of Tremors“ created by Ivana Ivković, Ivan Marušić Klif, Phil Hession and Christian Cheren, “Hide or Reveal“ by Helena Wikstrom and Una Bauer and “Bridging the Silence“ by Hrvoslava Brkušić, Deirdre Cartmill and Beatrix Churucca. In May and June 2016 Pogon presented these and other works created within Corners at the event "Corners Triangle - Umjetničke akcije na Trnju" in Zagreb.
Corners was co-funded by the European Commission through the Creative Europe Programme, and the activities of Pogon are supported by the Ministry of Culture, City of Zagreb, Zagreb Tourist Board, Ministry of Social Policy and Youth. Find out more about Corners here.
