Culturavirus
The project "Culturavirus - New Community Art” brings into focus the work of cultural institutions and organisations with communities, in pandemic times. It's goal is to facilitate the exchange of experiences and practices of the countries involved in the project.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, cultural work with various communities has been difficult, due to the inability to hold live events. During the lockdowns, many members of our communities have felt the lack of human interaction, but also cultural content. Luckily, many institutions, organisations and artists have found new, innovative and creative ways to work with communities, through so-called „community art“, meaning art made for the community, by the community, with the community.
The project "Culturavirus - New Community Art” brings into focus the work of cultural institutions and organisations with communities, in pandemic times. It's goal is to facilitate the exchange of experiences and practices of the countries involved in the project. Pogon is implementing the project in partnership with the Bemowskie Cultural Center in Warsaw and the association Renovar a Mouraria in Lisbon.
The project will consist of three exchanges of practices through study visits, where participants will visit each of the partner countries and discover successfully community art practices. The visits will be in late April 2022 in Warsaw, mid-May 2022 in Zagreb and late September 2022 in Lisbon. This way cultural workers, artists, youth and community workers can exchange innovative practices they use while working with communities through art and culture.
