21:21: Mandragora
Mandragora explores the exhaustion of contemporary society shaped by neoliberal capitalism, rising nationalisms, and structures built on conflict and exploitation.
Within this landscape of rupture and suppressed togetherness, a performance emerges that hovers between a dance ritual and a concert, inviting the audience into a process of collective healing. Drawing on the ritual of weaving and the legacy of women’s work as a foundation for building communal bonds, Mandragora creates a stage space in which dance and music awaken archetypal, instinctive, and collective impulses.
The openness and layered meanings of its theatrical imagery invite free associations with witches, the history of their persecution, and an ongoing struggle understood as a global feminist metaphor for resistance and self-organisation.
The encounter between two musicians and four contemporary dancers, grounded in mutual play and listening, weaves a sensitive, interconnected, and responsive fabric of performance.
Mandragora thus becomes an artistic act of summoning the past to better understand the present, and a space in which togetherness is continually recreated through movement, sound, and shared experience.
