Nataša Devčić: Moljac /Moth
The work “Moth“ is a multi-channel animation depicting the toxic relationship between the two main characters - the Moth and the artist.
"(...) The moth nibbles at me, humorously pulling apart pieces of me that I then gather to put myself back together. This relationship is a metaphorical representation of my relationship with myself in emotionally exhausting periods of life in which I try to balance the rational and emotional parts of myself."
I find you in my closet, leaving holes among the coats. I find you in my closet among the coats, leaving holes.
I find you in my closet, leaving holes among the coats. The moth leaves holes in my head, holes in my body, wounds in my body. A moth is eating me from the inside. The moth and I are in symbiosis. It feeds off me, and I live by letting it gnaw at me.

The Moth project is a continuation of two previous projects, Glitch Noise and Slagalica.
In her artistic work, Nataša Devčić (1998) deals with the themes of personal growth and life changes, processing them through video, animation, digital graphics, photography, drawing, sound and poetry. In her creative process, she is interested in the correlation and interaction between image and sound. In digital graphics, she is intrigued by glitch aesthetics, with an emphasis on colours, textures and shapes that take on the characteristics of a traditional collage, while in animation she uses humour derived from everyday situations. Devčić graduated from the Graphic Arts department at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Zagreb, in 2022.
