Rojia Forouhar: Living with Building – an urban (hi)story
This exhibition brings together fragments from the second chapter of the ongoing project "Living with Building – an urban (hi)story" by Solitude Exchange Network artist-in-residence Rojia Forouhar.
Rather than presenting a completed film, the exhibition unfolds materials that will shape an experimental film in formation – one that explores the lives of undocumented Afghan construction workers in Tehran, who inhabit the very buildings they construct. Through interviews and the objects that structure their temporary dwellings, these fragments propose an alternative urban history.
The exhibited elements gesture toward an observational, collage-based narrative, offering a layered and cyclical understanding of the workers’ lives as they move through time and space – constantly building, being displaced, and rebuilding their world.
The opening on 29 January at 7pm will include an informal artist talk.
