Tricycle Trauma: An Unknown End
The contemporary circus collective returns with a performance that, through the language of chess, sheds light on secret scripts and apocalypses that never came to be.
In recent years, the notion of an apocalypse has become far more immediate and relevant than in the relative lull following the Cold War - from the extreme weather anomalies caused by global warming and the global pandemic to the renewed threat of nuclear warfare, the prospect of the destruction of civilization feels more tangible than ever before.
Through this performance, the collective expands the range of possible endings, illuminating the hidden records of endgames in a chess-performance recreation of unknown, impossible, and unrealized apocalypses.
