Margareta Sinković: A Rain That Falls on No One
POGONATOR 2025 presents a solo dance piece that explores the human body as one of the possible bodies of water.
The performance unravels a bond between natural water landscapes and human influence, revealing the myriad ways in which we are entwined with bodies of water.
At its core, the artistic exploration draws from poetic works of various authors, reinterpreting them through the lens of ecopoetry. By weaving together elements of poetry, video, and photography with dance and music, the piece aspires to shape a fluid, dreamlike performance space – one that mirrors the elusive and ever-shifting nature of water itself.
Margareta Sinković (b. 1998) completed her undergraduate studies in Contemporary Dance – performance course (2021) and her graduate studies in Performance Dramaturgy (2024) at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. As a professional dancer and dramaturge, she actively collaborates with dance and theater artists on the Croatian independent scene and works as a dance pedagogue within the 4SOBE program.
Through her artistic expression, Sinković explores the performance environment as a space that embraces the body, placing great emphasis on the sensory experience of performance. A crucial element of this environment is the layer of sound and music, which, on an auditory level, envelops both the performer and the audience. She is particularly interested in the poetic and transformative potential of the performing body, which plays with the notions of disappearance and metamorphosis within space.
