Christoph Szalay

Christoph Szalay (1987) studied German language and literature in Graz/Austria and Kunst im Kontext at Universität der Künste (UdK) Berlin/Germany. He is a coordinator for literature for FORUM Stadtpark Graz.

His recent projects has been: when we turned off the light [we didn't see nothing], 89plus/Luma, Zürich/Switzerland, 2017, SPACE=WOW (BUT I STILL MISS YOU, EARTH), chapbook bei Spacecraft Press, Calgary/Canada, 2017, performed as music theatre with the Minoriten Graz, and with the Musiktheatertage Vienna/Austria, 2017, lecture-performance in three parts When I think of palace, cooperation FORUM Stadtpark&Steirischer; Herbst, 2016, Re-Considering Trieste or OH, HOW I WANTED TO BE YOUR BABY (but you wouldn't let me), publication in limited edition (100) in the frame of AiR Trieste 2016, Alex&der; Mond, children’s book, with illustrations by Lisa-Maria Wagner, Luftschacht, Vienna, 2016.

Christoph Szalay was distinguished with grants, among others: Literary fellowship of the City of Graz 2014, fellowship of Künstlerdorf Schöppingen 2016, fellowship AiR Trieste 2016, LICHTUNGEN Lyrikstipendium 2017. He was awarded the following prizes (a selection): Feldkircher Lyrikpreis 2015, Wiener Werkstattpreis 2015 and the Wolfgang Weyrauch Förderpreis 2017.
 
Christoph Szalay participates in the exchange program between Akademie Schloss Solitude and Pogon in 2018.
